Bank of America is sponsoring this year's Chicago marathon. The event is meant to promote health and fitness, but in reality Bank of America is helping to make Chicago residents sick by bankrolling Edison International, which owns Chicago's two dirty coal plants. The Fisk and Crawford coal-fired power plants spew pollution into the air and poison Chicago residents in the Pilsen and Little Village neighborhoods. Ironically, Pilsen is one of the neighborhoods along the marathon route, meaning runners will be breathing dirty air emitted by the Fisk plant during the marathon.
Please tell Bank of America that it's past time the company end its support of dirty coal and shift its financing toward clean, green energy alternatives.
